Carl Purington Rollins (1880–1960) was born in West Newbury, Massachusetts. His Dyke Mill Press in Montague, Massachusetts was the first to use the Centaur types of Bruce Rogers. As printer for Yale University (1928–48) he designed over 2,000 volumes and lectured on typography and book design. He received the AIGA Medal in 1941.
