Friedrich Peter (b. 1933), born in Dresden, and studied graphic design and lettering at the Academy of Visual Arts in West Berlin. He moved to Canada in 1957, where he taught at the Vancouver School of Art (later Emily Car Institute of Art and Design) for thirty years.
