Herbert Bayer (1900–1985) was trained as an artist before enrolling at the Bauhaus where he became the director of printing and advertising. In 1928 he became the art director for Vogue's Berlin office. In 1938 he moved to New York City, and in 1946 he moved to Aspen, Colorado where he was a design consultant to Container Corporation of America. See more of his work here.
